Linear Technology Corporation introduces LTC6268-10, a new series of single and dual LTC6269-10 4GHz FET-input operational amplifiers for high dynamic range and high-speed transimpedance amplifier (TIA) applications . Decompensated amplifiers extend the speed and dynamic range capabilities of this ultra-low bias current op amp family for applications with gains of 10 or higher. In the temperature range of -40C to 85C, the maximum input bias current is 0.9pA, while in the entire temperature range of -40C to 125C, the input bias current is only 4pA. The broadband voltage and current noise are 4nV / √Hz and 7fA / √Hz, respectively. The LTC6268-10 and LTC6269-10 have an input capacitance of 0.45pF and a slew rate of 1000V / μs, making them ideal for photodiode and photomultiplier (PMT) circuits, high-impedance sensor applications, and driving analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The LTC6268-10 data sheet uses circuit and layout techniques to maximize TIA performance. The example circuit ranges from a 20kohm transimpedance gain in a 210MHz bandwidth to a 402kohm transimpedance gain in a 34MHz bandwidth. The LTC6268-10 is available in a 6-lead SOT-23 package, as well as an 8-lead SOIC and guard pins to prevent circuit board leakage. The LTC6269-10 is available in an MSOP-8 with an exposed pad and a 3mm x 3mm DFN-10 package. The company states that the LTC6268-10 and LTC6269-10 are fully specified over the -40C to 85C industrial temperature range and the -40C to 125C industrial temperature range.
