Omron Europe now offers the new G5RL-K-EL latching relay, created for the high surge point performance required for intelligent building automation systems and capacitive load control.

The new thin power relay -- ideal for controlling fluorescent and LED lamps -- offers an innovative single contact structure, making it a highly competitive solution.

The new 16A relay complies with the International Safety Standard for Electrical/Electronic Home Appliances (IEC60335-1) and is iec60669-1 certified, providing high inrush current capability up to 255A. The latching design saves energy because there is no holding current to keep the relay open. Ideal for harsh switching environments where loads vary widely

Andries de Bruin, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Omron Europe, explains that the device is an excellent complement to the company's popular G5RL family of relays: "Smart building systems can reduce the need to touch shared surfaces -- an important safety measure as we resume our working lives after COVID-19. As a result, facility managers are increasingly turning to automated lighting to improve safety and save energy. But the highly variable loads typical of these systems require specialized components. The new G5RL-K-EL is an intelligent solution to this growing challenge."
